DOMINIQUE SERRAND - Artistic Director

Co-Artistic Director of The Moving Company and co-founder of Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Dominique Serrand has acted, conceived, directed and designed for most Jeune Lune and Moving Company productions for over 30 years, concentrating primarily on directing. His other directing stages include Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Playmakers, La Jolla Playhouse, Yale Repertory Theatre, American Repertory Theatre, Actors Theater of Louisville, The Guthrie Theater, The Children’s Theatre, The Alley, The Shakespeare Theater, DC, amongst others.

Awards: 2006 Best Production “THE MISER”, Boston, Houston, San Diego, Minneapolis, San Francisco, 2005 Tony award best regional theater, 2005 USA ARTIST Fellow, Ford and Bush Fellow , knighted by the French Government in the order of Arts and Letters.  

STEVEN EPP - Artistic Director

Actor, writer and co-Artistic Director of The Moving Company and Theatre de la Jeune Lune (1983-2008), Steve’s acting credits include title roles in Crusoe, Hamlet, Gulliver, Figaro, and The Miser. Locally, he has graced the stage at The Guthrie Theatre, Ten Thousand Things, The Jungle and others. His work has also brought him to La Jolla Playhouse, Berkeley Rep, The Spoleto Festival, American Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Alley Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theater, and Theatre for a New Audience, and The New Victory Theatre off-Broadway, among others. In addition to creating new work for The Moving Company, Steve has co-authored many plays, including Children of Paradise, which was awarded a 1993 Outer-Critics Circle award

Awards: 1999 Fox Fellow, 2009 McKnight Playwrights Center Fellow, 2013 Beinecke Fellow at Yale University, and 2012 Helen Hayes Award for Best Actor.

NATHAN KEEPERS - Producing Artistic Director

Nathan Keepers is Producing Artistic Director of The Moving Company. Since 2009 MoCo has been creating original works, most recently Say All The Truth. Others include, Liberty Falls 54321, Werther & Lotte, Love’s Labour’s Lost and Refugia (with The Guthrie.) Nathan previously spent 11 seasons with Theatre de la Jeune Lune. Elsewhere locally: Jungle Theater, The Guthrie, Ten Thousand Things, Sod House Theater, Augsburg Varsity Theater, Six Points, Playwright’s Center and CTC. Nationally: Actor’s Theatre of Louisville (ATL), ART, The Shakespeare Theatre-DC, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, The Alley Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, South Coast Repertory and The Folger Theatre. Nathan has also collaborated with other local artists including choreographer Berit Ahlgren, and around the country directing for Merrimack Repertory Theater and ATL. He has been an artist in residence at University of Iowa, University of Minnesota, Stanford University, NYU and Gustavus Adolphus. Nathan studied with Pierre Byland in Switzerland, and Philippe Gaulier in London.

KENZI ALLEN

Kenzi is honored to be performing with MOCO once again. She was previously seen in the 2024 production of Speechless. Kenzi is a local theater artist and teacher specializing in movement, experimental performance, mask, and devised theatre. Twin Cities credits include the Guthrie Theatre, Children’s Theatre Company, Four Humors, Red Bird Theatre, Walking Shadow, and devised work directed by Jon Ferguson. She is a founding company member for The Missing Theatre, UK. Training École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq, Flöz Akademie with Familie Flöz, Burlesk Center with Pierre Byland and Mareike Schnitker, Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, University of Minnesota, SPCPA.

MAGGIE CHESTOVICH

Maggie is grateful to join forces with The Moving Company again. She last worked with MoCo on their production of Love’s Labours Lost in 2014. She also performed in The Miser and Tartuffe with Theatre de la Jeune Lune. Maggie was recently seen in This Girl..., Twelfth Night, and Emilia with Ten Thousand Things Theater. Other local credits include several more shows with Ten Thousand Things, The Guthrie Theater, The Jungle Theater, Children's Theater Company, Park Square, Workhaus Collective, Old Log Theatre, Eye of the Storm Theater, Hidden Theater, Frank Theater, Illusion Theater, Pillsbury House Theatre, The Playwrights' Center, History Theater, Joking Envelope, Bryant Lake Bowl, MN Fringe Festival, and Thirst Theater. Regionally, she has worked at Seattle Children’s Theater, Berkeley Rep and Alley Theater (with Jeune Lune), and at Actors Theatre of Louisville (with MoCo). Currently, Maggie is a student in the ASL Interpreting Program at St. Paul College.

ANNA SCHLOERB

Anna is so grateful to be working with The Moving Company! She has admired their work from afar and is thrilled to be a part of this production. Anna received a BA from Macalester College with a double major in Theater & Dance and in American Studies. At Macalester Anna performed in various shows including Angels in America (HARPER), Fetes de la Nuit (NANNETTE) and Hair (SHELIA). Other acting credits include Open Eye Theater (LochMess!), Ravinia Festival (Bernstein’s Mass). Anna is originally from Chicago where she performed with the Chicago Children’s Choir singing with many artists including Chance the Rapper, Ted Hearne, Bobby McFerrin, and Jamilla Woods. Currently, Anna is working with Ten Thousand Things as their Acting Production Manager. She recently completed a year-long Production Fellowship at the Children’s Theater Company where she will return as the Assistant Director of Milo Imagines the World. Anna would like to thank the whole Speechless team for bringing her on board and teaching her so much! She has been consistently inspired and ignited by the company's poetic, thoughtful, and joyously human approach to the work.

NICHOLAS CARLSTROM

Nicholas Carlstrom (Stage Manager) is delighted to be working with The Moving Company for the first time! Nicholas is a graduate of Viterbo University where they received their BFA in theatre, focusing in Stage Management, and minoring in Arts Administration. Locally his work has been seen at Park Square Theatre, Theatre Elision, Great River Shakespeare Festival, and while working & teaching at PiM Arts High School. Nationally his work can be seen with NETworks Presentations (Touring), and previously with First Folio Theatre (Oak Brook, IL), Peninsula Players Theatre (Door County, WI), and with Greenbrier Valley Theatre (Lewisburg, WV). Nicholas would like to thank you all for being here and supporting live theatre.

SONYA BERLOVITZ

Sonya Berlovitz designed over sixty productions for the Tony award-winning Franco-American company Theatre de la Jeune Lune between 1980 and 2008 including Don Juan Giovanni, Figaro, The Miser, Carmen, Hamlet, Cosi Fan Tutti, The Magic Flute, Tartuffe, Medea, Circus of Tales and The Three Musketeers. Since 2009 she has been a resident designer with The Moving Company, touring shows with them to South Coast Repertory, Playmakers Repertory Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. Productions elsewhere have included The Wilma Theatre, Children’s Theatre Company, the Guthrie Theatre, American Repertory Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, The Jungle Theater, Ten Thousand Things Theater Company, and Theatre Latte Da. She is very excited to be returning to Speechless.

MARCUS DILLIARD

Marcus Dilliard has designed for theatre and opera across North America and in Europe, most recently seen at Pittsburgh Opera as the lighting designer for La Traviata, Utah Opera for Thais and Penumbra Theatre for Wine in the Wilderness.  He has designed many productions for The Moving Company, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, the Guthrie Theater, Theater Latté Da, Penumbra Theatre, Minnesota Opera, Children’s Theatre Company, Ordway Music Theater, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Minnesota Orchestra, American Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. Opera designs include Pittsburgh Opera, the Spoleto Festival (Italy); the Athens Festival, Lyric Opera Kansas City, Portland Opera, San Diego Opera, Flanders Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Opera Pacific, Fort Worth Opera, Vancouver Opera, Opéra de Montréal, Canadian Opera Company, Chicago Opera Theater, and Boston Lyric Opera. Marcus is a graduate of Boston University’s School for the Arts, a member of United Scenic Artists and a University of Minnesota Professor Emeritus.
